while I was working the othere day i was listening to Jesus the Christ, by Jame Talmage. it is a dificult boock to comprehend while reading. but when lestening to some one reading it and puting the enfasuses in the right places it make a lot more sence.
with in the first few chapters he was comparing the Resurection to blades of grass being eaten by a cow. the minerals within the grass can not choose to reorganize and form a cow. the cow needs to eat the grass and that is the only way it can become cow. like us we can not resurect ourselves we need the Christ to help us become like him.
my minded wondered a little on the subject of choosing. and all the things we can and cant choose to become. I imagined that i was a computer tester. and someone, thought that they had invented artifitial inteligence. a computer that could learn and adapt and make its own choices. while i was testing this machine i found that i could not choose a favorite coller. it could choose a randome collor just fine, or ove of three collrs that were easest to display on the screen, but not a actual favorite collor.
now hear is were the tricky part comes in. what make us diferent from computers?, we learned earlyer that living things a simply atoms configured in many difrent way and when met with another apropriat atom creat a chemical reaction. the grass turning into cow was a simple chemilcal reaction. and eaven the eletricity whith in a computer have chemical reactions the they have to abide by. and if a brains are simply realy complex computers then every choice we make is just a result of a chemical reaction. how ever there there is something difrent from us and computers that gives us the ability to choose and that is our agency, wich i feal is directly conected ot our spirits. or if you want a better word, Intelagence. so the mear fact that we have the ability to choose proves that there is a God.
